# Non-connected vehicles

### What is a non-connected vehicle?

Non-connected vehicles are vehicles which are still visible in the app, but for which no hardware is installed inside the vehicle. The vehicle is offline and there is no direct communication possible between the vehicle and TMF platform.

The carsharing app can still be used for these type of vehicles for:

* manual mileage tracking via the user entering the odometer value
* calendar with reservations
* billing reservations

### Usage flow for a non-connected vehicle

1. user creates reservation
2. User goes to the vehicle. The vehicle is shown on the map in the defined home location or the previous known location if the previous user shared their location<br>
3. user starts reservation and enters the odometer value<br>

4. user enters odometer value
5. user ends reservation and optionally shares their location as the current location of the vehicle

### How to add a non-connected vehicle

#### Via the control center

Add a vehicle and set the hardware type to *offline*.&#x20;

#### Via the portal

By default all vehicles added via the portal are non-connected vehicles.&#x20;
